Janette Yarwood is a cultural anthropologist whose work focuses on political life, civic space, and institutions across Africa. She is Director for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa in the Office of International Affairs at Yale University. She previously served in senior roles in the U.S. government, including at the State Department and on the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
