An 11-page resource for teachers and students is now available – React and Respond: The Phenomenon of Kony 2012

http://concernedafricascholars.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Kony-React-Respond.pdf

This teachers’ packet includes an overview of the LRA situation, guides for teachers about stereotypes in the Kony 2012 video, critical thinking about Africa and media literacy, “What can we do about Uganda and the LRA?,” and a resource list.  The materials have been written by Barbara Brown (Boston University Africa Studies Center), John Metzler (Michigan State University Africa Studies Center), Patrick Vinck (Program for Vulnerable Populations at Harvard Humanitarian Initiative), and Christine Root (MSU/ACAS).

The Association of Concerned Africa Scholars (ACAS) also is adding to its list of resources at: Resources on Uganda, the LRA, and Central Africa http://concernedafricascholars.org/uganda-lra-central-africa/

See also the ACAS “Statement to the U.S. Government about the Lord’s Resistance Army and Central Africa” at:
