Kennedy Bungane – Opportunities for capital: Banking on Africa
The next RAS Business Breakfast (5th Sept) will be with Kennedy Bungane – Chief Executive, Regional Management & Strategy, Barclays Africa Group.
Kennedy Bungane joined Barclays in July 2012 and is responsible for the Group’s operational and business activities outside South Africa. He leads Barclays’ business strategy across Africa. Kennedy started his career in retail at Standard Bank and in 1996 transferred to the Corporate and Investment Banking Division. During his 20-year tenure at the Standard Bank Group, he held a variety of senior positions, including Head of Global Markets Sales, Head of Institutional and Corporate Banking and Deputy Chief Executive of Corporate and Investment Banking for South Africa.
The RAS Business Breakfasts, hosted by the Royal African Society and sponsored by Diageo are a regular series of events for senior executives of companies, NGOs, policymakers and other experts.
The Business Breakfasts provide an opportunity for attendees to deepen their understanding and knowledge of the role businesses play in Africa’s socio-economic development. Attendance is by invitation only and only for corporate and individual members of the Society.
