Edward Thomas and Magdi el Gizouli

Edward Thomas has lived and worked in Sudan and South Sudan for over eight years. He worked as a teacher, researcher and human rights worker for Sudanese and international organizations. Over the past five years, he has written numerous books, reports and articles about South Sudan and its neighbours. Magdi el Gizouli is a Sudanese academic and fellow of the Rift Valley Institute. He writes on Sudanese affairs, often on his blog StillSUDAN and is currently working on a book project together with Edward Thomas on Islam and market authoritarianism.
