Rebecca and Michael Thompson (aka "The Africa Watchers") are a husband and wife team of mixed Ghanaian and British origins. They live in
Accra with their six children; there they combine the operation of a business with political, cultural and economic analysis and journalism focused on Africa, which they provide to various clients, most prominently the Economist Intelligence Unit in London. Over the years they have written about their home country Ghana, neighbouring Cote d’Ivoire and Togo, Equatorial Guinea, Liberia and The Gambia, as well as Ecowas and Africa generally.
