President Magufuli, we need leadership, not prayers
Many lives will be lost unless the government changes course soon, writes the head of foreign affairs of Tanzania’s main opposition.
Read all our COVID-19 coverage
The fact that COVID-19 arrived in Africa relatively late gave governments on the continent more time to prepare and mobilise. Nonetheless, the number of cases in Africa continues to rise rapidly and presents a severe threat. UN officials say it is likely the pandemic will kill at least 300,000 people in Africa and push 30 million into poverty.
What imperils us all the more at this time is poor leadership. Nowhere is this more apparent than in Tanzania, where the government is putting the economy ahead of lives and basing its actions on religion in the place of science.
Earlier this month, President John Magufuli took to the alter of a church to say he would not introduce lockdown measures. He insisted God alone can deal with the pandemic and called for three days of national prayer. In front of a faithful congregation, the nation’s president said the satanic COVID-19 does not reside in the body of Jesus and called for people to flock to churches.
Calculated or incompetent?
The reality is that to fight COVID-19, we must reduce person-to-person infections. This will require lockdown measures to restrict contact and should be accompanied by a programme of wider testing and tracing. The government must mobilise in a manner and at a scale rarely seen in peace time.
Around the world, countries require exemplary leadership from a commander-in-chief informed by the science – not, as we have in Tanzania, an irresponsible priest-in-chief.
President Magufuli’s appeals to religion may seem delusional, but they are also calculated. There is a reason the government has shut down schools, political gatherings and sporting activities while keeping open churches and mosques. Tanzania is in an election year. The government’s manipulation of last year’s local elections show it will take whatever measures necessary to gain an advantage, including courting influential religious leaders.
It is ordinary people that will pay for this. Tanzania will be hit hard by the COVID-19 outbreak that Magufuli is incubating and our broken healthcare system will suffer. Bent on funding his poorly-planned white elephant projects, the government has long neglected social services and, in particular, healthcare. This is why a nation of 55 million people has just one COVID-19 testing lab, located in Dar es Salaam.
As of 27 April, Tanzania has 299 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and ten registered deaths. But the true figures may be far worse. Our health system cannot test or even effectively diagnose and aggregate COVID-19 related deaths. Even if it could, the government cannot be trusted to truthfully report them. There is already a black mark against Magufuli’s administration in this regard; last year, the World Health Organisation (WHO) expressed concern over the government’s lack of transparency regarding reports of Ebola cases.
Time to save lives
President Magufuli has an obligation to lead Tanzania in the fight against COVID-19. He should leave religion to the priests and prioritise saving lives. Anything else would be inhuman. There will be economic repercussions, but as Ghana’s president noted, economies can be resurrected, but dead people cannot.
To battle COVID-19, President Magufuli should lead a unified national effort as called up on by leader of the opposition Freeman Mbowe. He should urgently mobilise and reallocate resources to the health sector, even if it means pausing infrastructure projects. He must prioritise the mass expansion of testing capacity and upscale the purchase of Personal Protective Equipment for our frontline healthcare workers.
The epicentre of COVID-19 in Tanzania, the always busy and congested Dar es Salaam, has to be locked down along with other high-risk regions. The city is the site of 143 out of the 299 national cases so far. Keeping the city operational to protect the country’s fragile economy, which had started shrinking even before the pandemic, would be a betrayal to Tanzanians.
The government must also ban religious gatherings. It makes no sense to shut down schools and universities while keeping open churches, mosques, bars and restaurants. If the Mecca’s grand mosque and the Rome St Peter’s Basilica can close due to COVID-19, Tanzanians can be called upon to pray from home too.
Unless President Magufuli changes direction immediately, his ill-considered religious approach will have disastrous consequences for both Tanzania and the region. Many lives will be unnecessarily lost, while the economy will not be spared. If we do not lock down at least parts of Tanzania and knock out COVID-19, then COVID-19 will knock us down and the world will lock us out.
How selfish!!! When will Tanzanians wake up and finally elect leaders that will actually make a positive difference without placing them under the lid of theatrics?
Above All it kind like True Lie. I Love Tanzania.
Tanzania we have to unite and Love each other. Dont Bring discrimination or devide and rule. I love my country and i support John pombe Magufuli.
If You dont believe in Jesus Christ You will believe Mr Munishi or munisi? Or Modern devide and rule?
Hey! You deserve the slavery mentallity? and new colonised. Wake up in mind and proud from heaven to have a gentlemen realy president and wisely president. Covid -19 its not a political issue. Its a sin evils Desease and through Jesus christ were going to win.Remember in swahil.
In Jesus christ I trust.
Steve B
Thank You ..
Bring back my Argument meseji. Deleted?
Where is a freedom page i can post it?
My God.. Really?
Foolish message,
Mr. Munishi what do you meean by “We”? Only Atheists like you don’t need God. Millions of Tanzanians are praying. You also know the government is taking every SENSIBLE measure to control the disease. However, you are just trying to buy cheap popularitu through the media. I don’t think these efforts of mudsliding Magufuli can help to save your party the downfall in the coming elections
President John Pombe Magufuli he do the best compared to all advice your giving him because the God is everything and Tanzania is not the place like else where is the land of promise Isaiah 18 where chosen by God not the work of human being
who put science? We are in United States and till now, people are dying, suicidal death sky rocketing, drugs and alcohol abuse rising because people have nothing better to do. You don’t hear that people are rioting? They want the states to open economy because the impact of lockdown is starting to show up. You can not compare Tanzania with first world countries where the governments provide the essential needs and money.
President Magufuli is the man of God with wisdom from God himself. Have you seen what is going on in Nigerian, Kenya and Uganda to mention the few.
Steve can u tell me y jesus haven’t saved the rest of people who died and more people daying stop thinking like luny your self u at home lockdown and not thinking of others that’s selfish people of tanzania start using your own brain preyars can b made from home as well.listen this people devil said to good I will close all your church and mosques but God said I have opened loads of them at home think
We must with haste adopt Plan B if our original govt-led plan is as said not giving the best way intended anti-pandemic results.
If it is true that Tanzania’s inability to test for Corvid-19 is a problem, then where are the sick flocking to hospitals and/or increased, but unexplainable, deaths. Suppose no cure or management drug is discovered, how long shall we stay in a lockdown state? We need not thump our chest because we can copy paste best. We should only thump our chest when we too can create for others to copy and paste. Magufuli’s religious approach is good to improve collection of offerings – nothing more. However, his approach not to put the country in a completely lockdown position like Rwanda and Uganda is in preparation for how to steer the country to continue with life in the event that corona shall remain part of us for long. I won’t bash him for that.
Sorry, it depends on the position you take- A believer or non-believer. For a Moslem or Christian you cannot separate leadership and/from prayers. Prayer is a major aspect that makes a leader stay in tune with God about decisions he/she has to make. As believers we know that leaders come from God(whether “bad”or “good”). Therefore prayers is always a starting points for an approach to solve a problem. Through prayers our God leads us not into temptation and He gives us daily bread.
It was better to put here a video of Magufuli saying these rubish you have written. The government have formed a national control committee, education to the citizens as a result at least each entrance/exit there are hand wash facilities. Funds are put in place to deal with Covid. After all these done and continue to be done, we place all these in the hands of God/Allah. What is wrong with this. Magufuli did not say what you have written unless you had personal conversation.
I believe John is right…..see… sometimes….and ofcourse all the time…hope is better for itself is cure especial during agony……to inflict fear by locking down such economy-hatching country. And we must know that leading a country is not emotional practice than what ought to be done……the bravest shall survive for not every universal protocols are local protocols…..indeed there are times when we have to strike while others are in chambers to give the hope.
It is beyond reasonable doubt that our economy is not that sufficient to surpass our times of sorrow, so much so that our leaders urged to undertake extra measures against times of terror!!!! Though it is true to be afraid thats why self-extra-care is insisted to minimize the spread rate!!!!
Close your eyes and open your mind, don’t be selfishness just rising up poor Agenda my brother do you think everything is chance to win people on your side????, you don’t deserve to be a Tanzanian leader at all you gat dark mind, you don’t think wide, your ignoring peoples believe !!!! May God save you from the death shadow…. Tanzania leader must follow Tanzania reality and not following what other countries did, we differ in everything, keep on singing lockdown lockdown we will lock your mouth, die because of corona or because of hunger???? Your a leader of the office you don’t your society may be you know your family….
IN TANZANIA BEFORE YOU SPEAK THINK WIDE, SIO KUFURAHISHA TU MATAIFA YA NJE…. MPAKA LEO HUJALOCKDOWN UKOO WAKO ILI WAWE SALAMA, KWANI SERIKALI IMEKATAZA, JILOKISHEEE TU.
Your view is a biased opinion based on that what developed countries do is always absolute right. The countries that had locked down are re-opening schools and people are getting back to work. Yet there is still no treatment or vaccine and the virus is still around. So what was the lockdowns all about? If they could’nt handle the virus without a lockdown, well Magufuli is doing it and he wins the day because eventually life has to go on and people have to learn to live with the virus.
you just don’t know what you are saying, I’m a citizen of Tanzania and I love the way our president act, how many lockdown downs we have seen and helped nothing, look at Italy what kind of lockdown was that still transmission continued, look at usa now they came to realise it is stupid idea made now they are protesting to reopening, in facts lockdown worked only in China. So do not bring politics hear coz politically you’re right but in reality you’re totally wrong even USA president has realised now and is supporting protest
live our life alone if the day has come you will die, no body can escape death
Nothing
I’m a Tanzanian citizen, who is very proud of the measures taken by the our government at this time. It’s a global pandemic and it’s a very serious disease, but what the government has and is doing is the BEST solution. Our President doesn’t only have a science background, he also specialized in the area of Chemistry, he knows the science pretty well as is required to lead a country, he’s choices and decisions are very well calculated, thought and discussed with professionals (from health to economists). The rate of infections has decreased and also the number of recoveries is rapidly increasing. In Europe and America, their citizens are now asking and protesting their governments against the lockdowns, in Germany the people want their freedom to gather and worship. This simply means that, we have to recognize that there is a pandemic, then take preventive measures (which our government is doing well, through disseminating correct information throughout the media), and then keep working, because our economy relies on us Tanzanians to work. So I fully support my President and our government.
Ignorance is not a virtue. Understanding of science, facts and logic is a necessity and does not pause our Faith.
Stupid and nonsense information. God fearless men… What are you looking for? Our votes? My God will humble you people then you will know that He is God and no other!!
I love my country and support the president for his decision regarding the pandemic..and the consequences or say results, will be positive and I trust that the world will run to us for help
And the so called “ill-considered religious approach” is the approach that will change the mindset of rest of the world concerning our president.
Major nations with powerful economy have taken all measures to calm the situation but all resulted negative and deaths increased in numbers. Speaking from scientific angle you can all agree that virus can not be cured and they all struggling to find solutions. Where else shall the small nations relay?? Are the precautions taken agaìnst covid-19 not enough?? Who knows the implication of lockdown for country like Tanzania?? Tanzania has no religion but the citizens are believers same as president Magufuli. I am with Magufuli believing in almighty God hence forth without neglecting precautions said earlier.
This time he has lost it. His leadership is even questionable
I am just excited to see how many people are supporting our government efforts to fight Corona virus. It is heavenly wisdom to fight the disease on all fronts applying spiritual and scientific strategies. That is what president Magufuli is doing. What I know of my president is that he is not swayed by what other people are saying or doing. He weighs matters and comes to the conclusion as to what is the best solution for his country .We must realize that there are not easy solutions to crucial problems
***WAKE UP BLACK PEOPLE***
Look at all these Africans defending a white man’s god concept. Do you think there is a loving god that cares about humanity and also ignore human suffering. Look at our own history from the Arab slave trade, Americas salve trade, Belgium genocide and enslavement in Congo and the German genocide in southern Africa. if there is a god, he is either inept or evil; either way he/she/it doesn’t deserve to be worshiped. While we (black people) are on our knees praying the world is changing and moving on around us, but one thing remains constant: we’re the most disrespected race on this planet. we need to look for solutions from ourselves, not from another country or god because they all failed us in the past!!!
I’m reading this article from Nairobi. I think Tanzanians elected a populist moron who really doesn’t have a good understanding about how modern economies are governed. But then I hear Tanzanians are religious zealots who will vote for any guy who tells them what they want to hear. I pity your banana republic.
We must understand the nature of COVID 19. Anyone copying foreign measures and paste them to Countries of African nature must be understood as of no sound mind. Lockdown hasn’t reduced the number of cases in most countries. COVID 19 related deaths are much associated with other health conditions of infected individuals. If we speak of identifying those with other medical complications and try to keep them safe it would work. If we lockdown the country it’s no better as the Pandemic is in. Unless we should have done it before Covid 19 itself. America said they were late, other countries the same! Think widely and comment universally. If one dies for COVID and another dies of hunger, what is the difference? The measures being taken are basic and helpful as most Tanzanians live basic life. No one knows if lockdown is effective and for how long! What if Covid persists for more than a decade?
Lockdown of some places has been implemented. Function Halls, Ceremonies, political gatherings amidst others. I would wonder if the government of Tz would issue any closure measures to Churches and Mosques. Tz is a non religious state. Let’s not politicise the Pandemic.
Hahahahaa… LOCKDOWN YOU SAID!!! I think you have outdated info because people are protesting against the act in what you so call developed countries. And by the way, who said we have to follow all that developed countries are doing? They took the lockdown measure but did anything different happen? Do you know that gender violence has increased, drug and alcohol abuse have increased?
Do you know that in Philippines citizens requested to be allowed to be out because of fear of dying of hunger than corona?
Did you ever think how the average Tanzanian who depends on hand to mouth income to survive if Tanzania would be on lockdown, did you ever think how crime rate would have raised if that happen?
We are advised to use our thinking in whatever perspective we want (science, politics) but we aren’t told to stop keeping and practicing our faith and of course we can’t replace it. If science has so far declared to have no solution, what is the crime of turning to our God, in whatever religion we believe? And by the way he hasn’t stopped you from staying home if you can afford to because there are many organizations and companies whose employees are working from home. You are cruahing Magufuli because he took hard decision of being different from what people like you thin those doing lockdown took hars decisions. It is good to respect people’s perspectives even when they differ from ours. People are living in fear and devastaion in lockdown countries… Have tou talked to them ama you are waiting for their media to tell you.. Do you think that will be on news?
President magufuli seems to have much faith. Let us not accuse him of ignorance. Otherwise he is determined that God is the might and he the only one who can control this epidemic, covid 19. God bless Tanzania. God protect Tanzania. God you are able.
The problem with you guys who don’t want to take your time and investigate what’s happening in other countries is concurring with fake news.the president has ordered everything to go ahead but with all the precaution that the WHO is directing,WHO is science, just because the country isn’t in a lockdown doesn’t mean the Head of state isn’t giving a shit about science.we’re now seeing countries that rushed in lockdown are easing the restrictions yet the contractions is on the rise and the economy is in shambles
Thumbs up to you Mr President . Of all the African leaders i single you out to be a true leader who is full of Wisdom and the path you took like i have always said is the only Solution to this pandemic. This does not need the so called learnant Doctors and Scientists for they trust in the wisdom of this fallen world. How many of them have fallen to this pandemic. The last time i checked thousands have died. I don’t care which religion you belong to , but what i know for sure and certain is that The Blood of Jesus put an end to man’s suffering and its folly for anyone to deny this fact and for that reason you die. The majority of African leaders are puppets because they have a dependency syndrome relaying on donor funding , which they eventually abuse through corrupt means and the bulk of these funds end up in the pockets of these so called leaders. What a shame to you all and now here is a President who is eliminating fear in the people he leads and there you label him a bad leader. Shame on you. It is becoming clear by day that WHO has double standards as far as covid19 virus is concerned but the same has been mad a god by these African leaders who lack wisdom and foresight and foresight. What a shame to you all. Its all vanity shame on you
Ignorance is bliss and I don’t trust the number of Covid-19 cases as reported by Tz. It’s more than what they want the world to believe. God have mercy on them and the entire world
President Magufuli has made very unique approach. I just can not imagine a lockdown implemented in Dar Es Salaam. How will those citizens who depend on their daily businesses survive? What will they eat? Some people have never experienced empty stomach and empty wallet. They eat well everyday and they know no lack. As long as we continue practicing all hygiene and health precautions in place, we can prevent the spread. I do not support lockdown, full stop..

Please stop being biased becoz of little money you are promised to get from your slave masters.
In fact, for what you have written against our beloved President Magufuri, I deserve to call you a slave with EUROCENTRIC mentality.
Stop it.
You just waste your time to deceive those with no information abt wht is taking place in Tanzania, but not Tanzanians.
We love all measures taken by our President, beside that Allah swt first.
Stop stop lying the world.
By the way, who is Mbowe in Tanzania to be taken as the measure of leadership? How can you separate science from faith? I’m in Italy where th church is pressing the government to let it restored the religious freedom to the church. Be aware with what you write!
The president is right..seems like you wanted him act like anyone else…lock down is necessary and is practised in europe and other countries where covid 19 hit the most yet there are still more death registered….president Magufuli have his own way and wanna do it the best….prayer are necessary because it is what people believe…and remember prayers are not the only measured in place…more is being done to date
Why did the UN officials not predict on the number of people who are going to die in the USA as they have done for the people in Africa? There so many people who are dying in the USA due to covid-19, is the CCM government concerned with these deaths? The colonialist puppets are still existing up to this era? I can’t believe!
Really all countries soon will adopt the way Tanzania used ,so mugafuri is God chosen president
We love him.
Faith and Science are two different issues here, Tanzania doesn’t want to listen but Mark my words Covid-19 will make us listen to Science.
There is nothing impossible with God.
I don’t want to believe that prayer is useless on the fight against Corona virus or any other enemy that comes our way. It God who is slowing down Corona virus spreading. It is God who is healing us because no medicine ever mentioned ever since. Lockdown? God first and last!
Our President is right. We have to take precautions while contuing with social and economic activities that make the society survive. May I ask our government through responsible ministry to ensure availability of COVID-19 test to all-over the country, at least in every district. God bless Magufuli, God bless Tanzania.
Don’t seek political popularity through this, whatever you do you must involve the almighty God. Have you heard on closing hospitals, specified areas for quarantine. The government is doing every possible way to stop the diseases. Or do you want the president to follow your stupid advice???? Affected people are taken under critical care.
I like my President Magufuli’s measures on Covid 19 and He is a man of God …indeed the next coming disaster for developing countries after Corona virus lockdown is hunger…But for Tanzania we’ll overcome
Boss! Tanzanians are proud of the government steps ..Stop cheating the world..
Foolish. You are pipety. In Tanzania we have all. Almighty God that’s why we are playing, and good leadership under our beloved president Dr John Magufuli. If you are unbelievable stay away about this.
I Love My President John Magufuli and i love Tanzania my country believe in Jesus Christ for he is the only one who can save us. Not only the bad words of a blind person who is a coward and afraid mislead us, We love you our dear president just have faith.
Am surprised at the differences between Some Tanzanians and Ugandans. In Uganda priests, imams, pastors are all encouraging people to pray from home. Uganda is in a lockdown and cases have almost stopped with the exception of new cases from Tanzanian & Kenyan truck drivers. This kind of reasoning & fake interpretation of God is putting not only TZ but the whole East African region in danger.
Leave our President alone, people are not ashemed by themslelfs, it is a month and some days since the first victim of Covid_19 was realised, simple arithmetic, give us the rate for that particular time as compered to a smalll country like Italy, Tanzania is Haven of peace, and that is from Jesus Christ the seviour if you dont have some thing to say much beter remain silence
Mr. Munishi,
If you had an answer for how to resolve the covid 19 rage, I would expect you to be in Washington or new York helping Mr. Trump save lives. President Magufuli is wise and forward looking. He knew very early in the game that given the meagre resources and poor medical facilities in Africa only miracles through spirituality would save Africans.
Even if you gave Tanzania 1 million ventilators and billions of dollars, we would still lack the medical staff needed to save the day. African doctors and nurses have been underpaid for so long and it will take supernatural intervention to have them put their lives on the line in order to save lives of their fellow Africans. Our doctors and nurses are no longer in the business of saving lives. Their work ethics have changed. They want to live in nice houses and drive nice cars. They need you to miraculously change their mind sets to focus on why they chose medical profession.
Mr. Munish you need to help Tanzania to unite fight this pandemic. Blaming President Magufuli for asking Tanzanians to pray for their nation is like criticizing a child for being illiterate while stopping him or from going to school.
Tanzania or Africa have no wherewithal to fight covid19 we need Divine intervention and resources to over this pandemic. Blaming Mr. Magufuli for covid 19 is shortsightedness at best and immaturity at worst.
What do you mean by leadership, we Tanzanians are blessed with the Mugufuli leadership, if a soap can kill the Corona virus how much more the Creator of heaven and earth.?!!!
I’ve been to Tanzania many times and Judging from these comments I now understand why the country is so backward. Ignorance runs high within the population, and because the majority have never been in a developed country, it’s hard for them to understand how the world works. Your country is a joke. Dispite your belief in prayer, Poverty has catapult prostitution to new heights. Keep praying and staying ignorant, there a price to pay
Exactly, The government should embrace the scientific principles that works in favour of good health. We have a lot of pastors who can do better than the President did. It’s obvious that each individual is entitled to freedom of worship . When it comes to government, they are responsible to advocate the right control measure.
I am actually shocked by some who believe they can only trust God in this without precaution. I mean no offence but if someone is about to punch you in the face you don’t just wait there and believe God will guard you. You HAVE to do something while believing in God. You can’t leave your car open believing God will protect it, you HAVE to lock it then believe God will protect it. GOD cannot help you if you Don’t help yourself, it doesn’t work that way. So we have to trust in God but at the same time we need to take precautions, measures to save our selves from this Virus.
Lock downs, wearing masks, avoiding gatherings are all precautions. You have to think about this wisely guys.
Mr. Munishi,
Could you please as a competent leader, present us with a workable LOCK DOWN PLAN just for the city of Dar es salaam with its 6 million inhabitants and a very poor infrastructure, poverty index of over 80%, water supply problems etc? Like how would you feed them for even 3 weeks?
We need to think of our unique situation and conditions in depth and choose the least damaging option to our people.
History repeats itself indeed. The way Kingi Kitile Ngware led to the senseless death of Tanganyikans is almost the same way your President is leading the freeway spread of Covid19 to Tanzanians! Unfortunately, this won’t be a problem just to Tanzanians! Here in Uganda too! We’ll share in the problem caused by one clueless man’s blind belief in Jesus’ healing power to a disease that strictly has a scientific explanation! HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF
I believe God will justify your decision might president, I am not a Tanzanean but recognition and need for God in this crucial time is commendable. You stand Tall and Unique you man of Faith. God Bless Tanzania.
Prayers and efforts go together , otherwise miracles doesn’t work for everyone,,God helps those who help themselves, Tanzania government should do something and not rely on prayers only
I am not ashamed to mention my president Dr.John Pombe Magufuli as a true leader and example to other African leaders who just follow the brown whistle from so called developed countries without thinking of the future impacts of the decision they make and not considering their environment which is so different to European or western countries in all sphere; but mostly economy that can’t afford the demands of lockdown. Its undeniable that now fear is a problem than COVID-19 itself and to which all the two of them our president has shown leadership on taking measures first eliminating fear by saying clearly cause fear not to others “TUSITISHANE” and insisting on taking all the suggested precautions while the government is also taking other measures to fight. You got to stop being used brother, we Tanzanians understand clearly the truth and any steps you guys take to brand the problem and cause disunity with our Government is considered as killing venom. I understand many people fail to recognize truth and mistakenly confuses the facts that they have with truth to be upholding. You guys your facts doesn’t apply for us Tanzanian, keep those suggestions and lockdown for yourself with your families. Remember this “Maturity is recognized when the inner ability of discernment lead to Choices of effective decisions towards matter on hand even if not understood by people of that time when it was made” Our government is maturing even in ability of making great decisions like this and just because we don’t agree to the same way they do should not be the case to raise all insults to our president.
By the way, the reason you choose to mock instead of giving thumb’s up to our president is because that’s your freedom and you have right to do so. But is our president freedom also to choose taking or not even considering your advice while at the same time is taking ours. Don’t refuse to accept that the population of Tanzania 50 millions plus there are many wise people who are not politicians as you! You are not the only representatives of this population and thinking your opinions are the best than all others is wrong! Very wrong actually! This Nation is the remnant Nation, among all African nations who declared publicly from the head of the state that, “TANZANIANS TRUST IN GOD TO SAVE US” from this pandemic but we also know there is part to play while trusting in God so we will take precautions by using our health specialists and individuals which we do. Let us be together united so strongly we can defeat the enemy.
I CAN SEE THE LIGHT and I encourage everyone who sees the same, let us show patriotism to our country and the commander chief Magufuli by paying full support to listen with readiness to do the directions they give us. Hon.Dr.John Pombe Magufuli I support you Sir on this with all my prayer and transforming fellow Tanzanian who have not yet understand you so they can.
I have long pitied Africa due to poor and selfish leadership……..we continue to vindicate the ‘whites’ opinion about this continent….
listen to citizens speak…….prayers for a scientific battle????? yet you have people openly supporting????? how did Christianity and Islam entered Africa?
Enifah
Ehana
I like Magufuli’s approach. Putting God first.
I have seen no scientific approach that is yet to succeed to handle this covid19, especially the issue of lockdown I wonder where it worked!!! The US or spain maybe, u can’t know the intelligence of a student until the exam end and u look at the results then you will know who did the best. Dr magufuli opted to handle this in a different way and he has my support locking down a country like Tanzania where there is a massive poverty will only kill citizens of hunger and accelerate poverty, let the president lead his people through this, we only have to protect ourselves and this shall pass.
i think media has overblown this thing; people do your own research and come with your own conclusion. try do so without fear
feels like Africa is being colonised by the WHO and very few individuals are noticing; maybe Pombe Maghufuli is noticing
Knockdown is not the way out at all yet peoples are agitating . Knockdown without vaccine, cure or even measure to cub the spread of the virus. The US is still on knockdown yet they are increasing in30-35 thousands daily and their dead records is never below a thousand daily. This virus has proven the scientists emptier than the world today cannot believe. Tanzania!!!!! You have a godly Leader/leadership, you’re all blessed.
The leaders of Tanzania should not focus on religion “God help those who help themselves”.There should imporse lockdown in Tanzania otherwise this country started the stimulation of covid19 in other East African countries. Here in uganda ,we have least numbers of coronvirius but due to reach 122 brought by foreighner truck drivers from neigboring countries ie Tz and Kenya. We Ugandans we shall remain in lockdown mostilly becuase Tz.
Magufuli is my man of the moment. Lead on. If you follow the crowd, the crowd will not follow you.
The problem of you you don’t in live by you live according to what you see. But we people of Faith we understand the meaning of prayers and how can move everymontain ahead of us. So we don’t Care what you say what we believe through the power of the blood of Jesus Christ every Corona virus it is going wipe away in Jesus name.May The Lord continue to bless our President Dr.John Magufuli Emanueeeeel God is with us.
Do you think science is greater than God .
I truly support this man. A hundred percent. Kudos.
So you choose lockdown instead of God?
HE JPM is the best president in Africa. He stand in what he believes to be right. The way he has handled the pandemic is very exceptionally. Soon the rest of the leaders in the world will follow his footsteps and that is where many people will recognize his potentials. To mention few , the world is now suffering from unemployment due to lockdown and many people will die not to this COVID-19 but with depression .
Prayer is good. For some people that is the only time, they don’t think of doing bad things, gossip, be aggressive, and so on. But my question is if we are relying on prayers only to combat a pandemic of this scale, why is a country spending taxpayers’ money on building universities that train scientists and doctors? In my view, it is for them to use their knowledge in normal as well as pandemic situations. Smart leaders are there to harness scientific knowledge to curb the spread of such pandemic. if not, history will surely judge them!
chloroquinolone malaria https://chloroquineorigin.com/# how long has hydroxychloroquine been used
