Ahmed Ismat

Ahmed Ismat is a Sudanese writer and researcher based in Cairo. He studied pharmacy at the University of Khartoum and was involved in Sudan’s 2018–19 revolution. He later became a spokesperson for the Resistance Committees and co-founded the Sudan Labour Bulletin, where he worked on reporting, politics and the economy. His writing focuses on Sudan’s political history, war, grassroots organising and the ways ordinary people build political and social life amid state collapse.
