Jon Abbink

Jon Abbink is a political anthropologist/historian and em. professor of the political anthropology of Africa at the African Studies Centre (ASCL) at Leiden University, The Netherlands. He researched and published on the history, politics and cultures of Northeast Africa, in particular Ethiopia. He did fieldwork on agro-pastoralist and cultivator peoples in Southwest Ethiopia, political change in Northeast Africa, religious culture, and on society and religious history of Northern Ethiopia.
