Selma el Obeid is an independent researcher. Her multidisciplinary background includes research and development within SECADEV in Chad, the Ministry of Environment & Tourism in Namibia and the Institute of Developmental Studies in Sudan. She co-authored seven books on Namibia’s environmental and rural conditions. She conducted research for the Institut français des relations internationales (IFRI). Selma is a graduate of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Khartoum, and has a Master's degree in Social and Economic Development from Sorbonne University and a Master of Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School.
